For Christmas for my parents I decided that I would do a painting for them of a landscape from their favourite books and films. The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings.

I absolutely love how this turned out and am thrilled that when my parents opened it Christmas morning that they started trying to figure out where to hang it up in the hallway.

This is the largest painting that I've ever done, being a 32x40" stretched canvas, and done in acrylic paint. The hard part was figuring out placement of the windows, but the rest was rather enjoyable.

Due to the size, I couldn't work on it while my parents were home. So this was done in three sessions of four hours each. Yeah that's how often I got to work on it.
